Videotuotantoa :) Some film making :)

Tavallinen sunnuntai.

Just another Sunday.
Ilona wakes up. Has breakfast.
I have nothing to do, so I decide to do some tablet weaving.
We decide to make an videolesson about how to weave tubular selvedges.

Video on kohdasta, jossa käännän koko pakkaa samaan suuntaan.

I am weaving S-pattern which is one of the Kekomäki braids and it is also seen in Karelian iron age dress as one variation.
The film is from the part where all the tablets turn in same direction.

In this case the tubular selvedge is formed by four edge tablets. It can be done atleast with two tablets. In this method the edges turn over the braid, which makes it very strong.

MITEN TEHDÄÄN TUPPILOHULPIO
HOW TO WEAVE TUBULAR SELVEGES

When designin the braid, add desired amount of edge tablets, for example 2-4. Notice that the edges turn over the pattern and might hide part of the pattern. That can be avoived my making 1-2 onecoloured tablets between pattern and tubular selvedge.

2. Kutoessasi vie kudelanka reunalautojen ali ja normaalisti viriön läpi. Näin helppoa se on.
2. Separate the edge tablets and weave under them, other tablets as usual. It is so simple.

Here I have four edge tablets: one with blue yarns, two tablets with two blue and two grey yarns and one with four grey yarns. Together they form a nice pattern on the tubular selvedge.
In the picture the right side and the back side of the braid.
